IPEH’s total listed value exceeds 3.7 billion yuan

The official business opening of the Intellectual Property International Exchange of Hainan (IPEH) in 2020 marked a step forward in the study and practice of Intellectual Property Securitization in Hainan. It also had great significance for the Hainan Free Trade Port as it develops local IP management and service system and works to create a world-class business environment. In the past year, the number of patents, trademarks, copyrights, new plant varieties, and other IP rights listed in the IPEH for transfer and licensing of products exceeded 180,000,  and had a total value of more than 3.7 billion yuan, with completed and intended transactions valued at more than 10 million yuan.

The IPEH aims to develop into a high-level, international, securitized IP trade institution operating under the rule of law, with an efficient, transparent, standardized system. By serving technological and commercial customers and working to achieve intellectual property securitization, the IPEH hopes to significantly improve the transfer, application, and value realization of intellectual property in Hainan.

The IPEH creates innovation in  IP unit license modes and issues intellectual property in accordance with the expected market demand for derivatives. After issuance, each unit’s license rights can be traded on the secondary market, and its price varies with the supply and demand of the market. The IPEH actively innovates in the areas of intellectual property trading and financial services and has established a multi-level franchise product system. 

In order to improve the scientific and technological achievements of universities, the IPEH is making connections with universities such as the Chinese Academy of Tropical Agricultural Sciences, promotes their achievements on the State Intellectual Property Operation Public Service Platform, and has also launched the “IPEH Patent Transformation Special Session”.

Next, IPEH will further promote the transformation and improvement of Hainan's IP intensive industries, and develop a globally influential intellectual property trading and pricing center.
