Trade Representatives from Hainan Attend the 4th CIIE

The 4th China International Import Expo (CIIE) opened in Shanghai on the evening of November 4, 2021. In attendance at the Expo were 311 enterprises and 1,110 participants from the south Chinese island province of Hainan.

During the CIIE, Hainan will make use of the Expo’s functions such as international procurement, investment deposit, cultural and educational exchanges, and an open cooperation platform to actively carry out a variety of activities such as:

Organizing key import enterprises, trade enterprises in services, large supermarkets, trade enterprises, and scientific research institutions to negotiate, and carry out international procurement;

Carrying out exhibitions and performances which give an impression of Hainan as international tourist destination including presentations on duty-free shopping, tourism complexes, maritime sports and natural scenery;

Carrying out a series of investment activities, visiting important exhibitors, re-visiting enterprises which participated in the first China International Consumer Products Expo, and holding seminars to promote the Hainan Free Trade Port.

Mainly featuring six categories of exhibition (food and agricultural products, automobiles, technical equipment, consumer goods, medical devices and health-care products, and the services industry) the CIIE will last until November 10th.  The number of countries and enterprises exhibiting at this year’s event greatly exceeded that of the previous year.

Worldwide, the China International Import Expo is the first national level import themed expo. Along with the China Import and Export Fair (also known as the Canton Fair), the China International Fair for Trade in Services, and the China International Consumer Products Expo (the Hainan Expo), it is one of the national events which China uses to demonstrate its determination to open up and to cooperate internationally.
