Airport Economic Zone in Jiangdong attracts global investment

According to the administration of Jiangdong New Area, the district’s Airport Economic Zone has begun inviting investment from well-known domestic and international enterprises in eight major industries (air transport, financial leasing, aviation maintenance, general aviation, aviation fuel, warehousing and logistics, aviation manufacturing, and cross-border trade).

With a planned area of 50.52 square kilometers, the Airport Economic Zone in Haikou’s Jiangdong New Area is poised to take off. Adjacent to Meilan International Airport (which has 280 air routes to 144 cities within China and 29 international and regional air routes connecting Southeast Asia, Japan, Russia, Italy, France, Germany, and other countries), the Airport Economic Zone stretches from Nandujiang Ave. at its northeast corner to Lingshan Avenue, Meiling North Road, Haiyu Avenue in the west, and the Haikou Beltway in the south.

As part of the building of an open free trade port and a dynamic aviation city, the Airport Economic Zone is creating a high-end area for consolidating air traffic related industries into a single place that features the innovative gathering of resources for air services and their ancillary businesses. The Airport Economic Zone’s stated focus will be on providing "great logistics, great aviation service, great security, new forms of consumption and new types of trade".
