Providing passengers with a better flying experience and more personalized travel experience, Haikou Meilan International Airport's new Terminal 2 will officially open tomorrow.
Tomorrow at 11:00am(UTC+8), we will take you on a live tour of the Phase II of Haikou Meilan International Airport. We will experience the air gateway to Hainan Free Trade Port together. The live broadcast will be available on HiHainan's Facebook page and HiHainan's official wechat channels.
1. Meilan Terminal 2 Functions:
B1 - High-Speed Train Access

2F - Fast lane for passengers arriving without checked baggage and parking structure access
3F - Domestic Departures and Check-In Area
4F - International Departures
The Departures Info Desk is located at Check-In Island 3 on Level 3, the Arrivals Info Desk is located on Level 1 next to the Gate 4. The Quarantine Area Info Desks are located to either side of the rear of the Domestic Security Check.

Items that do not meet the packing standards can be repacked for a fee at one of the Baggage Packing Offices which are located in Departures to the left of Gate 1 and to the right of Gate 6.

2. Check-In Area
T2 has 5 check-in islands with 110 check-in counters. From east to west they are designated A, B, C, D and E.
Hainan Airlines (HU) is located near Departures Gate 3 at Check-In Island C counters C01-C11 (Economy) and C19-C22 (Business).
China Southern Airlines (CZ) is located near Departures Gate 4 at Check-In Island D counters D12-D22.
3. Transfers
According to the transfer operation plan of Meilan Airport Phase II, Hainan Airlines (HU), China Southern Airlines (CZ) and international and regional flights will operate in T2, while other airlines will remain in T1.
Passengers should check in advance whether their flight is taking off from T1 or T2.
4. Self Check-In Service and Intelligent Facilities
Passengers can complete travel document verification, seat selection and boarding pass printing at the airport via the Self-Service Check-In machines. Hainan Airlines' Self Check-In is located near the Island C check-in counter and China Southern's is located Island D.

Pre-security check gates will differentiate between accompanying and boarding passengers. If a passenger's baggage needs to be inspected, the pre-security check gate will prompt the passenger to go to the luggage inspection room.

Domestic travel security check lanes 15 and 17 have multi-segment milliliter wave scans.

Upgrades to the security check include integrated facial recognition technology, luggage information, automatic basket return, automatic re-inspection and other functions in one.
Of note, the intelligent basket return system will automatically send empty baskets back to the front end reducing both wait times for passengers and security staff workload.

5. Epidemic Prevention
The epidemic prevention requirements of Meilan Airport are dynamically adjusted according to the current situatio n. For details, please check the airport's official website, weibo, or call either the airport at 0898-966114 or the Mayor's Hotline at 0898-12345.
6. Photo Hotspots
Meilan Airport Terminal 2's buildings use Hainan cultural elements such as shophouses, Li brocade, and Li boat houses to create a number of "Hainan specialties" such as the Blossoming Meilan Dome, garden courtyard roof, and Old Street commercial area

7. New Customer Service Hotline and Visual Inquiry Machine
The new customer service hotline at 0898-966114 has all aspects of airport customer service at one number. This includes passenger enquiries, flight information, service quality complaints, luggage storage services, medical services, lost and found, and special passenger services.
Passengers can also make enquiries online through the official WeChat accounts of Meilan Airport. Visual Inquiry Machines are located inside Gate 3 of the departure hall and at the entrance of the access road from the high-speed railway station to T2, enabling real-time consultation and self-service flight enquiries.

8. Duty Free Pick-up Counter
After passing through domestic security check and arriving at Central Commercial Street passengers should turn left towarda the Hainan Airlines First Class Lounge and walk 10 meters to the CDF pick-up point.

Pick-ups for the duty-free products from other companies will be available at the "Digital Trade" pick-up point diagonally opposite Gate 60.
