Haikou Meilan Interchange Section Opens to Traffic

The Meilan Interchange Section Project includes the terminal section of Yunmei Avenue, the reconstruction section of Haiwen Expressway, and the Meilan interchange, with a total length of about 8,833 meters.

As a key connection for the surrounding road network of the Meilan Airport’s Phase II expansion project, the Meilan Interchange Section Project connects the main roads to Haikou, Wenchang City, Haikou Yanfeng Town, and the Linyun Interchange Project.

It is expected that the interexchange will effectively help the Meilan Airport to realize the convenient transformation of various transportation modes, such as aviation, round-island high-speed rail, intercity rail transit, and expressway. It will also help to build the airport into an important gateway for Hainan’s foreign exchanges, and accelerate the development of the Haikou Jiangdong New Area.
